Paper title: Crack path prediction using computer modelfracture mechanics analysis
Authors: El-sheikhy R A I
Summary: A general approach of crack path technique during fracture process is developed accordingto " Directional Fracture approach " (DFA). This technique is presented for cracks under kth-mixzdmode tension-shear and compression-shear. It is applied for all directional fracture criteria [S , G , S,, Ge . x] . The hypothesis of this technique depend on the hypothesis of the used criterion , crackangle@), crack length (a), fracture increment length (r), and fracture angle@) . Computer programsusing Quick Basic language are developed . Several examples of cracked specimens have beenanalysed covering the experimentally tested samples recording a good agreement.
