Paper title: Approach for strategic decisions in cad developmentin design offices

Summary: The primary goal of this paper is to present a decision-making process for managers of adesign group. The aim of the process is to improve significantly the competitiveness of thecompany in such a way that it uses and supports: competence and development of individuals;creativity; and trends in CAD. The proposed approach for strategic decisions in CADdevelopment (figure 1) consists of seven stages: the performance objectives for CADdevelopment; selection of action plan; preliminary development project review; selection;managing the benefits, costs and risks during the implementation; post evaluation; andcompetitive edge evaluation.
