||Africa has always suffered from a shortage of university places. A new Internet-based scheme could be the answer (Gray, 2000). This is the next best thing to traditional classroom instruction (George, 2000). According to professor George Eshiwani, vice chancellor of Nairobi’s Kenyatta University, powered by modern technology, this new service will provide world-class education and training programmes to people across Africa.
